keeping our kids healthy
How many articles have we read about how to keep our kids healthy? Sooooo many! And we’ve tried most of them. Children are the most determined people to do exactly what you don’t want them to do. But, I will say, action without words mean so much, when children can SEE you, rather than hear you, that will greatly impact them.
I have a friend that just completed the Spartan Race, and for those who don’t know (I didn’t until now), it’s a very difficult obstacle course marathon. You have to be, not only physically fit enough to finish, but mentally strong enough. This is what Farah had to say about making it the end.
“During the race I had the kids voice in my brain telling me I can finish, “you’ve got this mommy.” I kept that in my mind to keep me going. I really wanted to set an example for them, especially Mia. She was so excited about me doing it, and I said I am not coming back without a medal.”
We saw her train and train for this race, and I’m so incredibly impressed and inspired by Farah, not just me; her community, and most importantly, her kids.
