Natural and Candid Photography

That is always the aim to achieve those natural, candid - genuine moments. When I’m with a family, I like to have a list of shots all ready prepared. If it’s outside, I like to go there before hand to see where the best possible areas to shoot and so I can utilize my time the best with each family.  (In these post I’ll be focusing on one family)

I’m lucky enough to live in such a diverse city that has so much to offer. Central Park is definitely a fun place to shoot and you’d never know it in these shots..

But, of course it’s great to get these iconic places in as well.

For me, what works the best is even before we meet (if you’re a new client), is sending notes to truly see what you’re looking for. All families are different and I want to capture their unique personality.

Another thing that is key is to observe, take photos when they’re not looking at the camera - only focused on each other, and sometimes that requires patience; patient enough to know that you will get that magical moment.

I love it when that moment happens, and the joy I hear from families when they receive their photos is everything - when they are so happy with what I captured. That’s my gift to them.

“They came out so beautiful…You’re absolutely amazing.” (from mom)

My goal as a photographer is to capture those authentic, candid moments that families cherish. By preparing a shot list and scouting locations in advance, I maximize our time together and ensure we find the best spots for stunning photos. Living in a vibrant city offers endless opportunities, from iconic landmarks to hidden gems. I focus on observing families in their natural interactions, patiently waiting for those magical moments that truly reflect their joy. The smiles I see when families receive their photos make it all worthwhile. #Photography #CandidShots #FamilyMemories #VisualStorytelling #ArtOfObservation
