Reading Annie Leibovitz, she was/ is such a fantastic photographer because she really studies her subject. She’ll spend weeks studying them to visual the best location and pose for them, that’s what makes her the best. You may know her best for all her covers and spreads in Vogue Magazine. 

I also do prep work before each family shoot and look at other photos to give me inspiration - to figure out the best shots. I can’t really ask to hang out with a family for a few weeks to get that perfect shot. No, but it’s fascinating the time she puts in. She really cares, deeply.

I have been inspired by her for as long as I can remember, 5th grad maybe when I picked up my first Vogue magazine, and I’m excited to share that I will be venturing into children’s fashion photography. I absolutely love working with kids. I do. And I love fashion. I love photography. I’m now prepping for a fashion shoot at the end of next month. I’ll be working with a few kids of different ages, so we’ll see how it goes. But I do know this, even though the work is important, I also have to bring out the fun. All kids, all grownups, relax when they know it’s just having fun. The rest is up to me.
